Committee and volunteers

Could you put something back into the Association? Would you like to get more involved? Can you spare some time to support your committee?

We have some jobs which would be ideal for some new volunteers to have a go at …. we need:-

A Wildlife Champion
To take an interest in wildlife on the site, liase with outside organisations and perhaps keep up a diary page for the website.
Adopt a noticeboard some people to keep noticeboards up to date with information off the website – for people who don’t use computers
Help organise events – to start with help us organise the Produce Show in September – we know what to do, just need a hand, then if you like it you could do some more.
Shop Volunteers – to help open the shop from time to time.
maintenance volunteers – to help with odd jobs like fixing taps, fixing broken fences, keeping the yard and bankers in good order.

If you think you could help out please drop us a line – either via the website contact, or through the committee room letterbox.

Your committee is a small group of unpaid volunteers, who together with the field reps, take on the day to day management of the allotment site. This is unusual – as most allotment sites are run directly by the council – so why do we do it this way and not just let the paid professionals get on with it? ….. Good question that, worth thinking about.
