The committee are keen to know what you see as the priorities for maintenance and development across the site; your views on the trend to smaller plots to better serve those on the waiting list; the kind of events we can organise with you – all aspects of the management of the site.
The better informed we are of your views the better we will be able to balance the often conflicting pressures we are under when making decisions.
You can talk to your field reps, send us your views through the contact page of this site, and plotholders are welcome to observe committee meetings and, with the agreement of the chair, contribute to discussions.
Our current priorities are:-
Collecting rents; managing lettings, membership list and waiting list.
The maintenance of perimeter hedges and fences, with a view to safety and site security.
Maintaining the water supplies
Developing the infrastucture for soil improvement, particularly to the higher up plots. This includes sources & storage for leaves, compost, woodchip and manure, and the improvement of main access paths to make transport easier and safer.
Organising events including Seed Swap and Produce Show.
Managing self sown trees where they impact on the fertility of adjacent plots.
Maintaining contacts with other organisations, eg the farm.
